About Converterse
A free, accurate, no-nonsense unit converter for everyone.
Our mission
Unit conversion should be instant, accurate, and free of friction. No sign-ups. No paywalls. No five-step ad-covered calculators that take longer than a Google search. Converterse exists to be the fastest place on the web to convert any common measurement and to actually understand what the numbers mean.
What you’ll find here
- 14+ unit categories — length, weight, temperature, volume, time, speed, energy, power, frequency, pressure, data storage, land size, angle, and force.
- Hundreds of unit pairs — each with its own dedicated, SEO-friendly URL (e.g.
/length/meter-kilometer) so you can bookmark or share specific conversions. - Real-world conversion guides — not just calculators. We explain when to use which unit, the history behind it, and the common mistakes people make.
- 55+ in-depth blog articles — covering aviation, sports, medicine, finance, construction, cooking, science, and more.
- Formula reference cards — learn the conversion math, not just the answer.
- Shareable URLs — pre-fill any value with
?v=100in the URL.
Who builds Converterse
Converterse is built and maintained by an independent developer with a background in software engineering and a frustration with cluttered, slow conversion sites. Every formula, blog article, and design choice on this site has been hand-reviewed — we don’t auto-generate content with AI and ship it without verification.
How we ensure accuracy
- Authoritative sources — conversion factors are cross-checked against NIST, BIPM, and ISO standards.
- Open formulas — every converter shows the underlying math so you can verify the result yourself.
- User feedback loop — spot an error? Email us. We fix accuracy issues within 48 hours of confirmation.
- No rounding tricks — we use full floating-point precision and only round for display.
How we make money
Converterse is free and supported by display advertising (Google AdSense). Ads are clearly labelled, never disguised as content, and never block the converter itself. We don’t sell user data — in fact, we don’t collect any. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
If you’d like to support the project without ads, partnership and embed-licensing options are available — reach out via our contact page.
Tech stack
Converterse is a single-page application built with React, TypeScript, and Vite, deployed as static files for maximum speed. We don’t use server-side tracking, fingerprinting, or third-party widgets beyond the AdSense script and standard fonts.
